Shipping Knowledge

What supporting documents must be submitted with the customs declaration to the customs authorities?

  • Original bill of lading (Original bill of lading) - A document confirming the ownership and delivery of the product. (Issued to freight carriers, e.g. Jónar Transport)
  • Commodity invoice (Commerical Inovice) - Detailed description of the product, price and terms of trade. (Issued by the seller)
  • Packing List (Packing List) - Details of the contents of the shipment, packaging, quantity and weight (Issued to the seller)
  • Freight Invoice - Invoice for transport costs e.g. from carrier (Jónar Transport)
  • Certificate of Origin - if applicable (Eur 1 Skirteini or EUR endorsement) - Necessary when a product comes from EFTA or EU countries in order to benefit from customs relief
